Dear Vince,
Eventually, in spite of all his legitimate relationship fears, Mitch is going to need a woman. A unique woman. Definitely not a woman who will berate his position, what he's done for his country, who he is as a man, and who he's had to become to be the best. She's got to have some understanding of the nature of the beast, and she needs to have a quiet passion that allows him a place to let down, to express all those things he's never been able to admit or talk about or question. She must be trustworthy. She must know it won't be easy to gain access to his heart and soul, and she must feel his sense of loss, how he blames himself, and how he views himself as damaged.
I know her. I want to write her. I see her and feel her approach to him and sense her restraint to the attraction when she is drawn to him. She's a true professional, but she's oh so human. There's background knowledge of his profession much like with Irene who is a personal friend of hers.
I don't want to take over the maginificent stories you've written with their romance, but when it's time for Mitch to find the real love of his life, I'm so there. This woman is the one.
Please let me write her.
Respectfully,
Nicole Petrino-Salter
