We just celebrated Thanksgiving in multiple ways across this country. Some laughed, some mourned, some ate their fill, some attended missions and shelters for their meals. This one nation under God has experienced a losing of itself under its present "leadership". Focused on things not familiar or previously welcomed in this United States of America, these things have allowed many to lose their way.
Believers associate this loss with a turning away from God. It's a judgment of sorts on the abandoning of God and country, morality and responsibility, faith and respect. A sad commentary on the ease with which some will forfeit independence for dependence, goodness for wickedness, apology for justification. None of it typical of the America we used to know and love.
Are you looking for America? It's in the hands of a loving God, waiting for those who love Him and it to look back and return to the beauty, the grace, the forgiveness, the reliance on God instead of man.
Waiting . . .
God, we are nothing without you, lost without you, sinners and in desperate need of the cleansing of Christ. Please forgive us and restore our land. Apart from you, we can do nothing. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
